Brooklyn, a 6 month old Goldendoodle from NYC and Duncan, a 5 month old Cockapoo from Briarcliff Manor became fast training buddies during their stay with Wk9.
Brooklyn’s dads were concerned about mouthiness, destructive behavior, jumping on people and the fact that Brooklyn was super high energy and wouldn’t cuddle.
Duncan’s mom called feeling completely stressed out after hiring 2 different trainers with little results. She felt like she was failing. Duncan was a strong willed dog and proving to be a handful. He was jumping on the table, pulling on the leash, grabbing everything in the house, wasn’t coming when called and even bolted out the door. They were definitely worried.
When Brooklyn went home from his initial 3 week stay, they couldn’t believe it was the same dog! They added, “Brooklyn is basically a new dog. There has been zero destructive behavior, he does place and other commands without anxiety and he falls asleep in our laps”.
At Duncan’s home visit, mom said “Wow, I’ve never seen him listen so well. Our daughter cant wait to start working with him. after a week, they reported he was listening much better; he sits and waits before going through the door, he comes when called in the house, and leash walking has been great.
These 2 awesome families are putting in the hard work it takes and seeing the results because of it. They are continuing to reinforce the training with Westchester K-9 coaching them every step of the way. Success is in the future for these 2 pooches, and stronger relationships with their family members. ❤️
